How to park?

On-street parking is prohibited throughout Grande-Île 24/7 from 10:00 pm on November 25.

For Strasbourg residents

Specific measures are being implemented for residents with street parking permits (Zones 2 and 3), as well as for drivers and motorcyclists who have a private garage or a parking space off public streets.

For all other Strasbourg residents and Christmas Market visitors

We recommend using the park-and-ride (P+R) facilities, then taking a nearby tram to reach the city centre:

  • 12 park-and-ride facilities are conveniently distributed across all tram network lines at a cost of €4.20
  • These car parks are open 7 days a week, with exit possible 24 hours a day. You may park from 4:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. the following day.
  • With a P+R ticket, all passengers in the vehicle enjoy unlimited access to the CTS tram-bus network for up to 7 people, including the driver.
  • An additional temporary P+R car park is available at the Zénith on Saturdays and Sundays during the Christmas Market. A shuttle bus connects the parking area to the "Hôtel d’Alsace – Petite France" tram stop, which is just 2 minutes' walk from the Ponts Couverts and the Petite France area.

For more information on P+R, visit the CTS website (Strasbourg Public Transport Company). Three temporary P+R facilities are also available, subject to conditions.

Citiz

CITIZ vehicles are prohibited throughout Grande-Île during the Christmas Market. To replace the no-parking zones located on Grande-Île, temporary parking spaces will be set up on the outskirts.

Motorhome parking in Strasbourg

In Strasbourg, there are no specific parking regulations for motorhomes. You may park in spaces designated for passenger vehicles, provided that you do not obstruct traffic and pay the parking fees.

This year, you can park your motorhome or van from 26 November to 5 January at the following temporary location:

  • At the Coubertin public car park, located in the European quarter. You can get to the Christmas Market by taking Tram E from the European Parliament stop and getting off at the République stop. The Christmas Markets are just a few metres away on foot.

A "motorhome stopover" area equipped with a service station and a waste disposal area is located at the entrance to the Strasbourg Campground for passing motorhome travelers.

Parking is permitted in all parking lots (unless there are height restrictions); there are no reserved spots.

During the day, it is recommended to park at the "Elsau" tram park-and-ride lot. The motorhome rate is €9.80 (€22 for vehicles over 3 meters in height) for a daily spot between 4:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. the following morning. Beyond these hours, a surcharge per additional day applies without access to the transit network.

This rate entitles all occupants of the motorhome (up to 7 people, including the driver) to unlimited travel on the CTS tram and bus network.
